At this audition for our May play (performance dates for Stepping Out are between 14 and 24 May), director Mathilde Berry is looking at three roles in particular:

• Rose (age: 30+): in the script, she is Afro-Caribbean

• Mrs Fraser (age: 50+): piano player an advantage

• Maxine (age: 30 to 50): confident dancer

Stepping Out is a warm and very funny play about the lives, laughs and loves of a group of women (and one man) attending a weekly tap-dance class in a dingy North London church hall. The grand finale features a triumphant show number.
